What are some possible uses for the Guerway?:
Deep or sedated extubation: Remove ETT or LMA, insert Guerway, and directly connect the anesthesia breathing circuit to the Guerway.
Suction: Directly connect suction tubing to the Guerway. Save the hospital from using a Yankauer in the operating room and in the recovery room.
Colonoscopy: If patient is obstructing with nasal cannula, insert Guerway and move nasal cannula prongs into the Guerway breathing circuit connector.
IV General Anesthesia (i.e. TIVA): Try using a Guerway instead of a more expensive LMA during TIVA cases and attach the Guerway directly to the anesthesia circuit. Save the hospital from using a more expensive LMA.
Look for fogging: Look for fogging within the Guerway to help confirm patient ventilation.
